Independent forklift provider, Lencrow, has bought Powerlift’s Nissan Forklift dealerships.
Lencrow MD Ross Grassick tells Forkliftaction.com News the deal becomes effective next month when the company takes over Powerlift’s Nissan Forklift retail operations in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Adelaide. In a separate deal, Powerlift has sold its Nissan Forklift operation in Western Australia to Allied Forklifts. Powerlift CEO Nino Pala tells Forkliftaction.com News Powerlift Material Handling will revert back to wholesaler on behalf of Unicarrier in Australia and NZ distributing the full range of Unicarrier products including the Nissan Forklift range.
Pala says the decision to establish an independent dealer network provides greater coverage for Powerlift customers as the majority of its technical staff have transferred to Allied Forklifts and Lencrow who have now taken over Powerlift’s Nissan Forklift retail network in Australia – “with Lencrow acquiring the Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane retail branches and Allied taking over the Perth retail branch.”
“I am pleased that Powerlift is dealing with strong well regarded and long standing companies within the forklift market to represent them,” he says. Grassick says part of the deal will see Lencrow take over maintenance of Powerlift’s long-term hire fleet and buy a percentage of the fleet. “In effect, we’ve added around 2300 units to our business and more than 100 staff as we’ve taken on the staff at the dealerships.”
“It’s a new chapter for Lencrow. We’ve wanted to get involved in the OEM side of the market for some time, and now we’re able to offer customers a better range of machines, with full factory backing and better service,” Grassick says.
Lencrow Materials Handling has become the independent dealer for Nissan Forklift by Unicarrier in Sydney, Brisbane Melbourne and Adelaide. The business relationship began in 1988 with the acquisition of Nomad Materials Handling.
